Improve your writing and add valuable credentials to your résumé by completing coursework for the Minor in Professional Writing and doing an internship in professional writing. The minor and the internship can supplement any undergraduate major.
You can submit an application for the internship after completing 15 hours toward the minor. The internship coordinator will work with you to place you in an industry related to your prospective field or career. You will work for about 10-12 hours a week at a Columbus-area business, government agency, academic unit, or nonprofit organization during a regular academic quarter at OSU. You will also attend an internship class (HUM COL 589) for 2 hours each week, earning 5 hours of course credits.
Ask your advisor for more information about the Minor in Professional Writing, offered by the College of Humanities and administered through the Center for the Study and Teaching of Writing. Or contact Professor Trish Houston, Internship Coordinator, by e-mail at houston.61@osu.edu. You can also call her at 688-4652.
